About Insight Consulting

At Insight Consulting, we believe that leadership begins and ends with trust. When trust is strained, decisions become harder, communication breaks down, and talented people leave.

We specialize in three areas to help leaders and organizations thrive and build trust across businesses, nonprofits, academic institutions, and mission-driven organizations:
-
Confidential Executive Advising: Supporting leaders in high-stakes moments as they navigate complex decisions and change.
-
Employee Retention: Quickly identifying and resolving the reasons your best people leave, so they choose to stay.
-
Internal Communication: Aligning teams, clarifying priorities, and ensuring messages are clear, honest, and consistent.

With nearly two decades of executive leadership experience across industries, we’ve seen what works - and what doesn’t. True success isn’t defined by titles or quarterly results. It’s defined by people, the decisions leaders make, and the trust and authentic communication that allow individuals and organizations to grow and endure.

Based in Anchorage, Alaska, Insight Consulting works with clients across the U.S. through both virtual and in-person engagements.

We’d be honored to help you build trust, keep great people, and lead with confidence.

About Our Founder & CEO

Stephanie M. Nichols
Founder & CEO

Before founding Insight Consulting, Stephanie led for nearly two decades in some of the most challenging and dynamic environments. From the boardroom to the classroom to tribal government, Stephanie brings a breadth of experience, always proving that leadership starts and ends with trust.

She turned what many believed was impossible into a reality when she founded and led the first-ever law school in Alaska. She then translated her vision into corporate leadership as a vice president and attorney at GCI, the state’s largest telecommunications provider where she earned a reputation for solving and leading some of the company’s most complex issues with trust, integrity, and sound judgment.

A 2020 Marshall Memorial Fellow, Stephanie brings a global perspective to her leadership, informed by real-world experience across law, business, and leading organizations through pivotal moments. She is Vice Chair of the Alaska Common Ground Board and a longtime speaker at Color of Justice.

A lifelong Alaskan who has traveled across the world, and with deep ties in the Pacific Northwest, Stephanie is also an artist, photographer, and aspiring audiophile. She has a bike for every season and often escapes the cold dark Alaskan winters with surf trips to Costa Rica and Hawai’i.

Stephanie graduated with honors from both the University of Notre Dame (B.B.A., Accountancy) and Seattle University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. She also studied just steps from the Indian Ocean at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, Western Australia.
