About Insight Consulting

At Insight Consulting, we believe that leadership begins and ends with trust. When trust is strained, decisions become harder, communication breaks down, and talented people walk out the door.

We specialize in three areas to help leaders and organizations thrive and build trust across businesses, academic institutions, local and state governments, and nonprofit organizations:

- Executive Advising: Guide leaders through high-stakes moments as you navigate complex decisions and change. All in a strictly confidential setting.

-
Employee Retention: Quickly identify and resolve the reasons your best people leave, so they choose
to stay.

-
Strategic Internal Communication: Align teams, clarify priorities, and ensure your messages are clear, honest, and consistent.

With nearly two decades of executive leadership experience across industries, we’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. True success isn’t defined by titles or quarterly results. It’s defined by people, the decisions leaders make, and the trust and authentic communication that allow individuals and organizations to succeed and endure.

Based in Anchorage, Alaska, Insight Consulting works with clients across the U.S. through both virtual and in-person engagements.

We’d be honored to help you build trust, keep great people, and lead with confidence.

About Our Founder & CEO

Stephanie M. Nichols, J.D.
Founder & CEO

Before founding Insight Consulting, Stephanie M. Nichols spent nearly two decades leading in high-stakes environments, from courtrooms to boardrooms to university classrooms to tribal government, and as a Marshall Memorial Fellow, meeting with international leaders to address global challenges.

With years of experience as an attorney and conducting critical investigations, she brings a rare combination to her advising: sharp thinking, the ability to recognize and mitigate risks early, and a human-centered approach to help leaders see what others often miss. She proves that great leadership starts and ends with trust.

She turned what many believed was impossible into a reality when she founded and led the first-ever law school in Alaska. She then translated her vision into corporate leadership as a vice president and attorney at GCI, the state’s largest telecommunications provider where she earned a reputation for solving and leading some of the company’s most complex issues with trust, integrity, and sound judgment.

A 2020 Marshall Memorial Fellow, Stephanie brings a global perspective to her leadership, informed by real-world experience across law, business, and leading organizations through pivotal moments. She is Vice Chair of the Alaska Common Ground Board and a longtime speaker at Color of Justice.

A lifelong Alaskan who has traveled across the world, and with deep ties in the Pacific Northwest, Stephanie is also an artist, photographer, and aspiring audiophile. She has a bike for every season and often escapes the cold dark Alaskan winters with surf trips to Costa Rica and Hawai’i.

Stephanie graduated with honors from both the University of Notre Dame (B.B.A., Accountancy) and Seattle University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. She also studied just steps from the Indian Ocean at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, Western Australia.
